William Whyte Foundation
The William Whyte Foundation was established in 1999 for the purpose of assisting individuals who live outside of the conference hosting country to attend the IAI conferences or other IAI training venues.
Bill Whyte, a former member of the IAI's Board of Directors, died in Little Rock, Arkansas immediately following the 1998 conference in Arkansas. Bill was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and supervisor of AFIS systems for the RCMP when he died. This new foundation will serve to fulfill one of Bill's passions, the desire to provide training for field officers who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend such events. Mike Carrick was appointed to head up a committee to establish guidelines for the new foundation.
