The BAE Systems’ team is aggressively searching for talented professionals with experience as a Latent Print Examiner wishing to be a part of a dynamic team to work in support of the Reach Back Operations Center (RBOC) and the United States Army Criminal Investigative Laboratory (USACIL). The position will be located in Fort Gillem USACIL location, but permanent relocation is not necessarily required. The candidate will be responsible for preserving and examining exploitable material for friction ridge detail following defined analytical methods which may include the use of chemicals, optical and computerized scientific techniques; maintaining established standards of laboratory safety, cleanliness, and efficiency; capturing developed latent prints from different substrates using digital photography equipment and high-resolution scanners; conducting complex friction ridge analysis of latent prints developed from exploited material to known individual standards and develop analytical findings using ACE-V methodology; providing detailed written documentation regarding the scientific findings of examinations performed; remaining current in the developments and theories of forensic science through available literature and contact with subject matter experts in the field of forensic science; providing formal and informal training in the collection and preservation of evidence which may contain latent prints; and other duties as assigned.

The individual must be able to prioritize, handle, and execute on multiple requests and tasking in order to handle a very high volume of work. In addition to the technical skills above, additional attributes are a must. Required Skills
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with 4 years of related experience; An Associate's degree coupled with 6 years of related experience; or a high school diploma coupled with 8 years of related experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience processing and comparing latent prints in a crime laboratory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Willing to work in the Atlanta, GA area for a total of at least 1 year.
- Eligible for Latent Print Examiner Certification by the International Association for Identification (IAI) or other comparable certification level.
Preferred Skills
- Prior military experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Strong photography and IT skills are a definite plus.
- Supervisory or training experience.
- Previous deployment, particularly at a CEXC or JEFF facility, is a plus but not required.
