Forensic Photographer
Forensic photographers being sought for employment as civilian contractors supporting US military activity on-base in Iraq. Former USACIL Forensic Photographers preferred.
Candidates must have an extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of digital photography and Adobe photo shop software. They should be able to photograph evidence utilizing an ALS and latent prints on various backgrounds / surfaces as well as digitally enhance latent print images.
Salary
Salary for well-qualified applicants is $108,000 to $158,400 annually, depending on the number of contract months. Free food, lodging, and transportation are included.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Photographing various pieces of evidence.
- Photographing latent prints, hairs, fibers, and serial numbers on evidence.
- Prepare detailed reports on activity performed.
- Train personnel in the area of forensic photography.
- Maintain and document the chain of custody of evidence.
- Ability to provide input and establish policies and procedures that contribute to the efficiency of the operation.
Requirements
- Must be proficient with digital photography.
- Experienced in photographing latent prints.
- Experienced photographing latent prints utilizing an ALS.
- Familiar with the digital enhancement of latent prints.
- Possess the ability to teach classes and brief information pertaining to forensic photography.
- Experienced in Adobe PhotoShop. Knowledge of Ocean Systems Digital Enhancement preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Organizational skills a must.
- Possess the ability to teach classes and brief information pertaining to the photography of latent fingerprints, materials and overall crime scene documentation.
- Physically able to and willing to rotationally deploy to Iraq a minimum of six months a year.
- Able to obtain a US secret clearance and US Passport.
- Must attend pre-deployment training.
