Position

This class performs scientific analysis and meticulous work related to the investigation of evidence for the detection, documentation, preservation, and comparison of latent prints, footwear, and other trace evidence; provides expert testimony in local and federal courts; conducts training seminars.

Examples of Duties

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminalistics, Forensic Science, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in latent finger/palm print examination, comparison, identification, and development with a recognized law enforcement agency, which must have included court room testimony; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above. Experience with ACE-V methodology is a must.
