Thank you for your interest in participating as an instructor in the 2020 IAI Educational Program! Below are answers to some frequently asked questions to help you prepare to submit your proposal.
Which type of presentation should I submit?
Consider a Lecture if your information can be shared visually in 30-60 minutes. Occasionally lectures are longer for case studies. You may input your timeframe choices in the application.
Consider a Workshop if your information is best conveyed through hands on experience in 2-4 hours. Workshops should include active learning experiences for over 50% of the timeframe. They should not be long lectures.
Consider a Poster if you are more comfortable having one on one discussions with attendees about your information or for topics with a specific focus. See Poster Page for more information.
What is required to submit a proposal?
You will submit your proposal on line (links provided below). You will be required to include a title, short abstract (75 words or less), and a short bio (100 words or less). You will also be asked to submit a time frame and primary discipline category for your presentation. If you are proposing a workshop, you will be asked more detailed questions about materials and other needs, requests and arrangements.
When do I have to submit my proposal?
Proposals for lectures and workshops must be submitted between December 16, 2019 and Feb 29, 2020. Poster proposals will be accepted until July 31, 2020.
When will I be informed of my proposal acceptance?
All proposals will be reviewed by a conference committee comprised of Science and Practice Committee members and the Educational Coordinator. The quality of the presentation as well as the overall program content goals are the primary considerations made during the program vetting process. All lecture and workshop presenters will be informed of their submittal status by April 30, 2020.
